Dreams & Goals
Nicole is a filmmaker who began her artistic career as an electronic musician under the names of Neutral and Squab Teen. She has since moved on to film with her first feature, (IN THE SHADOW) (, shot in Puerto Rico, and is in post-production for a new collaborative Austin, TX-based lo-fi project, (WHAT'S THE USE?)

Her work can also be seen at:

From her Blue Paper Film Works profile: “Film stories should not be exempt from the unexplainable and unplanned, yet there is a fear of real life in most movies, forcing this powerful artform to be little more than spectacle, or vehicles of reassurance and pacification for the masses. They typical film palette should also include a deeper look at what life and people are all about. We don’t eat ice cream and Cheetos everyday after all. Sometimes, we have to try that friend grub worm despite how scary it looks.” (

Day One Looms

I'm almost done transferring them over! This is a blog from June 17th about pre-production for What's the Use?
So, we are a week from shooting. It's been the usual non-stop pre-production hustle. I'm finishing the last of the props. Have just one VHS cover I need to design and print. I will be meeting some of the…
