Michael Chatlien has worked as a writer, director, and producer of films and videos for ten years. His short film THE SANCTUARY has received world-wide acclaim. He has written and directed several documentaries and promotional videos for various organizations.

In 1997, Michael was a writer/producer for Houghton Mifflin on an award-winning video series PATTERNS OF INTERACTION. The series consists of eight short historical documentaries for high school use. PATTERNS OF INTERACTION, along with the textbook of the same title, has received praise from teachers across the country and has sold extremely well.

After this, Michael worked as a writer/producer on the video series LITERATURE IN PERFORMANCE, which presents video adaptations of literary works, and MEDIA FOCUS, which analyzes aspects of the media. Both of these series were also done for Houghton Mifflin.

Recently, Michael wrote the screenplay OVERTURE, which won 1st prize at the Written Image Screenplay Competition. The winner was chosen by Lakeshore Entertainment, the producer of MILLION DOLLAR BABY.

Great news about selling your screenplay. As far as getting involved in a Dean Koontz type of project, I'm not really into the horror genre. So it wouldn't be a good fit for me.
