Kim Waltrip has appeared in such Television shows as "Cheers" and "In the Heat of the Night". She co-starred along side Patricia Arquette in the film,"Pretty Smart," and co-starred in the musically influenced film "Nights In White Satin". She started her career as a model for the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency in New York City in 1976 and ventured off to Europe where she continued her modeling career in Paris, Munich, Zurich and Milan.
Kim moved to the Palm Springs area when she was offered the job as District Director for Congresswoman Bono. She helped establish the "Mary Bono Walk for Children's Charities", the "First Annual 44th Congressional District Mock Congress" for High School Students, was the liaison for the "Triangular Adoption" program which required detail discipline, and a commitment to go to sea with the U.S. Navy in celebration on Assault Helicopter Warship's duties overseas, was the Team Captain for "Bono's Beauties and Beasts - American Cancer Society's Relay for Life", She established and helped produced the Semper Fi Memorial Honor Detail video "Again They Serve" which took the top award in all services of the military. Kim was honored with the "Aide de Camp" award by the detail.
She is the owner of a music entertainment company called WonderStar Music. Kim also produced and directed a pilot for a children's travel video series called "Griffin Goes to the Grand Canyon." She is also the co-creator of a Palm Springs, CA talk show, The Patti Gribow Show. Waltrip is a current Board Member for Women In Film and Television, Palm Springs Chapter, is a Trustee for the Olive Crest Abused Children's Foundation, is past Chairwoman of the Richard Oliphant Scholarship Fund, is a member of the Blue Ribbon committee for the Indian Wells Rotary Club Scholarship Programs honoring, Richard Oliphant, is a member of the Blue Ribbon committee for the General Patton Museum and is a former board member of the Tour De Palm Springs. She was honored with the "Angel Of The Year" award in 2005 by the Olive Crest Abused Children's Foundation for her dedication and tireless work in helping abused children. Olive Crest has named a scholorship in her honor, "The Kim Waltrip Education Fund" which will help abused children achieve their educational and vocational goals.
