In 2003, Dunn launched Theory Films, Inc., A production company specializing in narrative film and television productions. Through his company, Dunn has won over two dozen domestic and international film awards and accolades including the CINE Golden Eagle, TELLY Award, DAVEY Awards, and a REMI Award.

The Italian government invited Dunn to be a special guest at the International Festival del Cinema di Frontiera in Sicily in 2008. At the festival, Dunn sat on panels to discuss the state of global independent filmmaking and screened a selection of his directorial work.

Dunn has worked with Columbia Pictures, Universal Music Group, HungryMan Productions, Believe Media, among others. Dunn recently completed, "Escape from the Fire," an award winning motion-picture about two abused children during WWII. 'Escape played in eighteen domestic and international festivals including Cannes. "Escape from the Fire" was co-financed by The Kennedy/Marshall Company and Ben Stiller and has now been picked up for worldwide distribution.

Dunn is a guest lecturer at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, discussing producing methods and financing strategies for film production.
