An alumni of the prestigious American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women, Jennifer Weathers has over ten years of experience creating award-winning product for the entertainment industry. Her comedic short “No News Sir” received the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Regional Emmy Award and honors at Houston Worldfest and Charleston International Film Festival. Her short thriller “Misfit” was screened in festivals nationwide and her dramatic short “Pumpkin Hill” (starring Mitzi Kapture and Ethan Peck) was featured at the USA Kidfilm Festival in Dallas, The Palm Spring’s International Short Film Festival, The Santa Clarita International Film Festival and received a Special Gold Jury Award at Houston Worldfest.
Jennifer is also one of the premiere producer/directors in Hollywood when it comes to creating original content for dvd releases. Jennifer’s documentary work on the 25th Anniversary release of Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs” was nominated for Best DVD of 2003 by The DVD Premiere Awards and made TV Guides’ Top Ten list. She has also received praise for her work on the dvd releases of “The Holiday”, “Insomnia”, “There’s Something About Mary”, “Glengarry Glen Ross”, “Affair of the Necklace”, “From Hell”, “Ed Wood”, “Unbreakable”, the 20th Anniversary Special Edition of “Rocky” and most recently, the 13-part 2006-2007 Showtime series “Masters of Horror.”
Additional writing/directing credits include a 2-hour Tsunami Relief special for The Tennis Channel starring Roger Federer and Andre Agassi, the powerful domestic violence prevention video “From Awareness to Action” starring Academy Award winner Irene Cara, several behind the scenes documentaries for Warner Brothers, a series of commercial spots for The Bravo Channel and three episodes of the global monthly dvd magazine "Inspiring Heart". Produced out of the UK, "Inspiring Heart" features actress Amy Brenneman (Judging Amy, Heat), actress and dancer Sheila Kelley (Dancing at the Blue Iguana, Matchstick Men) and famed behavioral psychologist, Pat Allen.
A recent reading of Jennifer’s feature length screenplay “Young Lincoln” at the American Film Institute featured young actors Camilla Belle (When a Stranger Calls, 10,000 BC) and Ethan Peck (Adopt a Sailor, Tennessee). Jennifer is a current member of Film Independent (FIND), The American Film Institute (AFI) and The Alliance of Women Directors (AWD).
