I'm on hiatus as the Production Designer for Faye Dunaway's Master Class. It's a roller coaster of a film, but has some great talent. Send me an email and I'll give you the skinny on Detroit.
Hey Eric, I was in the middle of trying to get a comedy short finished when you sent me a line back in Jan. I like comedy, drama and action, but right now I am working on proving my bankability by starting with family films. I am currently searching for a few scripts to start with. I am writing one as well, but I hope to have something to start raising funds for before that one is finished.
I see you are raising funds for Shooting Star. Do you have a hopeful production date?
I missed your comment (somewhere beneath the chick selling me ringtones!). Detroit is hopping these days. I just finished a Rob Scheider titty movie here that was a blast.
My name is Benson Lai, I am a composer for films. I just wanted to introduce myself. I score a variety of music. My demo reel is located at http://www.blcompositions.com . If you need any music for your projects please let me know. I provide very affordable rates. Anyways it was nice to meet you.
Well... it won't be an easy task but I am completely convinced that there exists far more strength to change the current Hollywood system when you are willing to network and create a sort of "movement". By that I mean solidarity, thinking more progressively, not accepting things as they are, pushing more than just the envelope. Good art will always invite a reaction as will the willingness and audacity to "yin" when everyone else "yangs". Personally, I believe it's a choice that frees you from those annoying little boundaries... it's as I have always said, "Thinking that what you essentially accomplish in this lifetime has some relevance is vital; it keeps you from submitting to the urge to be just like everyone else." Check out my blog... I'm a bit behind on adding thoughts but I've been battling this irritating stomach virus for the past several days... http://upbeatmag.wordpress.com/ and feel free to connect with my on MySpace and LinkedIn: http://www.myspace.com/bridget_petrella and http://www.linkedin.com/in/bridgetpetrella
Eric-
Thanks on the haunted house comment. The script is written and posted on Inktip. I am currently with Writer's Boot Camp learning script writing techniques and will finish their 2 year program in April and just signed up for Chris Soth's Mentor program. The best yet with comps was an Honorable mention and a basket full of quaterfinalist but still working on the sale. looks like you have a very interesting project going yourself.
Shooting Star sounds like a great project. I have my hands somewhat full right now, but by mid year I will be looking for projects like yours, low budget indies.
keep in touch Eric and best of luck to you.
