Film Festival in Philly

Hi Everyone,

FirstGlance Film Festivals and Project 21 will be hosting “Show Us Your Shorts” at Marbar (40th & Walnut Streets in Philadelphia) on January 31st at 7:00pm for an open-mic-style film screening. Films brought by attendees, up to 20 minutes long, will be screened on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is an all-ages event, so you do not have to be 21 to attend, although some films are likely to be R-rated. $4 Smirnoff drink specials and light finger food courtesy… Continue

Philadelphia Networking Site

Hi Everyone,

Those that are in and around the Philadelphia area should visit www.phillyfilmtheatre.ning.com for auditions, film screenings, and other events. We also have some postings for NYC, so it also a good resource for those living in the New York/Northern New Jersey area.

Happy New Year!

Dear Dawn, Thanks for the tip. I will look into it. For now I will start writting a book and use the screenplay as the outline. The producers and agents all send back my screenplay and say that they can not even look at it because of legal reasons. A lot of books are made into movies, so that is the best approach for me at this point.
If you have an agent that is willing to help , I will send them a copy of the screenplay. It is registered with the copyright office and the guild and is in proper formate. One of the lead characters is a "strong" woman who is a wife and mother of a young boy. Her husband is a wealthy investment banker. The story is very powerful and will not requier a well known actress to "carry" it.
Thanks for taking the time to write back, Stay in touch. Doug H

Nice web page- I hope you can take one of the lead parts in the movie that I wrote. I
had a book published by a major company, but I do not know how to get started with selling my screenplay. Any help will be appreciated Best of luck
