I agree. A well-fed crew is a happy crew. I've heard horror stories of folks being on production and the food runs out ! Not good at all.
As for tips, well, this is pretty much a learning experience for you. It is like driving a car. I used to pepper my parents with questions such as how do I know when to turn the wheel (I know sounds simple but at 13 you don't know). My parents would try to explain and finally just told me I'll figure it out when i get there. And I did.
As for advice, keep an open mind and be aware you are going to make mistakes. No question about it. Everyone makes these in the beginning and is just part of the learning process. Just try to learn from it and don't repeat it.
Oh, and gets oatmeal raisin cookies for crafty. The crew will love it :)
Pre-Production and thinking out the "End Vision" is your goal. Going in and just "Winging It" leads to an editing nightmare. The Director's Vision, well communicated with the key players, DP, PD and Wardrobe is a must. Learn from the best. Joseph Kahn and Paul Hunter had a good run as directors. Look at their videos on youtube.com. Study the shots, themes, storylines and then go PRE PLAN your music video. Over shoot it. Get a lot of footage. Constantly move the camera. Cover your angles and tell a story that supports the music and lyrics.
