Hi I guess I am asking this question at right place, I am planning to shoot a commercial on HD Camera on HD-PDW 700 (xdcam) or Sony HDW F-900, I have only this option. Budget
is really tight and we do have a good requirement for VFX and composting.

I am just explaining the plan of shoot and the process to you guys so that you can get a clear idea and can help me in giving some useful tips during shooting and about post
production

We need to show a fire ball crossing the streets and than people, we need to merge this ball into the environment. We will compose some block shots for this purpose.

I met a VFX artist who told me that with a 4 GB ram along with 300 GB Hard disk space loaded with all the necessary software he can composite the above scene but it take good
amount of time. And then we can take these composite shoots to the edit machine  I guess this process will save our money but
not the  time  (I want to know if I do the above will the out
come will be of Broadcast quality and will the resolution will be same as it
was at time of shooting)

Can you guys suggest me what to do , shall I do the composting as above or shall I choose a post production studio because ultimately the objective is to keep customer happy.

Thanks in advance

Abhishek

i Think you can save money on the production part with an effective and well planned story boarding...i have worked on Sony PMW EX1 (XDCAM) but not tried HD-PDW 700 (xdcam). in today scenario i think Cannon 7D will be helpfull... the only problem with 7D is that it has rolling shutter problem (jelly like effect on sudden jerks )...
Hi Pankaj
thank you very much for your suggestion I am also thinking the same I will prefer P2HD or EX3, but the problem is that In Delhi up to now i have not got any one who has this camera, And if we call it from out side i think the budget will increase. I hope to find something good very soon thanks once again for providing the information
